It's TIME for **FALL**

I've started back the AAM Challenges at the Paper Place and it's really going very well -- everyone is enjoying the challenges and doing them (which is even better!) The challenge for this past week was to do a layout about your thoughts, memories and feeling of Sep/11/2001 (6 years ago already!) Here's my layout:

=====================================

=====================================

You've got to go and check out Heather's blog -- her Sept 11 layout/photo is awesome (as well as Alan Jackon's song!)

I have some updating to do to my blog (it's been a long time since I posted on here) and I want to get some of my newer layouts on here too. Maybe I'll have some time this afternoon.

I just can't believe that it's September already! The kids are back in school, the days seem to be getting shorter already and.... it's actually cooling off a little :-)

I have been TAGGED! by Heather -- so here goes:

I must post the rules, then list 7 random things about me and then tag 7 others to do the same by leaving them a comment...so here goes...

1. I love yellow roses -- when I die (let's hope not anytime soon!) I just want everyone to send yellow roses, no other flowers. To me, yellow symbolizes peace and sunshine.

2. I doing the "Holiday Grand Plan" this year in very high hopes that I will have all my Christmas shopping, decorating and house cleaning done in time so that I can take a break and just enjoy the holiday season.

3. I (we, the family) have a cat, a cockatiel, a beta, a puffer fish, and 5 outdoor dogs (the oldest being a red chow named DUFUS who is the biggest baby!)

4. I drive a white van (this is the 2nd white van in a row that I've owned). Before that, I drove a white Lumina that I special ordered and before that another white Lumina that I special ordered and before that, a white Toyota Corolla, and before that a blue Toyota Corolla. Yep -- I'm one of those people who love white vehicles (safer) and I don't like alot of change in my life (aka, B-O-R-I-N-G)

5. I love love love to load the dishwasher but I hate hate hate unloading it (go figure!)

6. I'm a LIST sort of person. I have to write everything down and I have a list that I have to follow just to make sure that I get everything done (accomplished) that I need to. Otherwise, I feel lost and out of sorts.

7. I love to be outside and in my garden -- either my flower gardens or my vegetable garden is fine. I love landscaping and creating things outside from barron places -- nature is beautiful.

OK -- I'm going to tag these people:

Lisa (http://wellhownice.blogspot.com/)

Kelly (http://www.sevenkrazykids.blogspot.com/)

Debby with a "Y" (http://debbywithay.blogspot.com/)

Jeanne (http://justjeanne.blogspot.com/)

Kylie (http://kylieharbin.blogspot.com/)

I don't know 7 people online that have blogs!!! LOL

I went to see the new Harry Potter movie last Saturday night.... my DD had a slumber party with two of her closest friends from school and they all decided that they would like to go and see a movie. Well, we got there (after eating pizza at Cici's UG!!!) at 9:05 PM. So, that meant we had to see the 9:30 PM movie. Guess what time it was over with???? 12:15 AM!! I thought I wasn't going to make it thru the movie without going to sleep LOL But I thought this movie was more interesting than the last one that I went to.

Home Today ;-(

Feeling a little under the weather.... actually since last Thursday. I have some kind of cold or flu or something. Headache, fever, congestion - so I decided it would be better if I stayed home from work today and not share it with my friends at work.

But, I did update my blog. Do you like the new title graphic? It's Rhonna Farrer (one of my favs!) and I picked up the blog title package at 2 Peas the other day. I just love Rhonna's style and colors. The title is "Bleeding Cowboys"; sounds gross I know but it's a cool font that I found that really matches the style of the graphic.

I've been working on the price calculations for both of the GCS Orange Beach events. I am hoping to get those completed and posted on the GCS website tonight. I would like to open registration on Jul/30 - that's my target date. I just love the Orange Beach events because there is a smaller number of croppers and we all get to know each other better. You can actually get to know 30 or 40 people in a crop room, very different than our New Orleans events where there is over 140 people. But they are fun too, just in a different kind of way. But I do feel guilty at the larger events because I don't feel like I have enough time to go around and individually speak to each person and that is something I would like to do.

I hope that you are having a nice day. Are you getting any scrapping done? All of my scrapping supplies are still packed up from New Orleans UG! I have a mind block when it comes to unpacking LOL

Whew -- What An **EVENT** :-)

I know that I haven't posted in a very long time. I get so busy sometimes that I just don't remember to post on the blog.

GCS New Orleans was an awesome event! It is the best event we've ever had in New Orleans -- we ended up with 144 scrappers!!! The place was rockin' and everyone was scrappin' and having fun. Can you believe that the attendees completed 1752 pages at this event!!! **WOW** This set a new record for the number of pages completed at a GCS event.

Our GCS Vendors were awesome! Special thanks for all the great scrapping supplies that all of you brought to us and also for the cool classes! Our vendors for New Orleans were Scrappersaurus (http://www.scrappersaurus.com/); Creative Memories Consultant, Kelly Guillory (kelann7@cox.net); and Close to My Heart Demonstrator, Vivian Brown (http://www.vivianbrown.myctmh.com/).

We also had classes offered by several ladies from the Sisterhood of the Paper Place Scrappers (http://www.paperplacescrapbooking.com/) Special thanks to Kim, Kelly and Wendi for the really cool ELMO classes.

Oh and we had a special surprise! Our very own Dawn Wilcox flew in from California to spend the weekend with us!!! Yeah!!! Dawn always brings fun to the scrapping parties at GCS. Everyone was so happy to get to see her again -- she's been gone for almost 2 years now (since Katrina). Dawn -- fly back in again as soon as you can girl!!

And Ms. Rita from the Scrappin Cats also flew in from the Carolinas to scrap with us! I believe this was Rita's 3rd GCS to attend! So glad you could come Rita -- it was very nice seeing you again :-)

We drew a very special name from our attendees to be our Queen for the GCS New Orleans Event -- congratulations goes out to Tammy, our Queen :-) She wrote this poem for us when she returned back home:

GCS New Orleans is so much fun
Because of the great staff and how it is run
We love all the groups and are glad they all came
The Cats, Divas, Mommas & Dellas, they all have great names
There's one group that's really rowdy, so you wallflowers beware
We all know about the corner and It's 5 O'clock Somewhere!
We learn in the classes and gossip with friends
And try to find strangers for secret pal gifts to send
Some travel far and some travel near
But when you get to GCS New Orleans there's no relaxin' here!
Scrappin' and dancin' are our #1
Because at GCS New Orleans,
Girls Just Want to Have Fun!!!!!!

We also played a new game during the Saturday night cropping party -- The Scrapper's Version of The Price is Right! Oh, so many great prizes were given away to the lucky winners! Congratulations!! I hope that I'll be able to get some pics to post.

Playing Secret Pals is always so much fun. I think it's the sneaking around and having people deliver your presents that is the best part to me LOL I got to deliver alot of presents at this event. It's great to deliver presents because you get to see people smile when you give them something.

Everyone loved the Scrappin' Packin' Mammas performance on Friday night! A couple of people missed it so they performed again on Saturday night -- awesome girls! I love the song -- you'll have to send me the words!

Got to run for now. It's getting way to late (12:08 AM) and I have to get up at 6:00 AM to go to work in the morning.

Hugs!

Wonderful Wednesday!!

I hope that you've also had a wonderful day :)

Work is going quite well today -- especially for end of the quarter! I've been super busy today and am just now really taking a break. I'm also getting out a few GCS Registration Confirmations while I'm on the phone working LOL -- Multi-tasking, that should be my middle name, er... or maybe first name! LOL

We have 104 people register for GCS New Orleans! We still have more seats open so if you haven't signed up, please do asap before they are all gone.

We have some new things happening over at The Paperplace Scrapbooking Community beginning April 1 :) DT Member Kelly will start "Layout of the Day" -- I can't wait for this. Then on May 1, DT Member Heather will be starting something that is a SURPRISE for right now. You'll have to stick around and see what it's all about!

Well, got to run. Have a wonderful day!

What a MONDAY this has been!

I've been busting it since I got up this morning LOL! First, it took 30 minutes to clean up the kitchen, unload/reload the dishwasher, etc before I ever even got the coffee pot started..... We worked outside in our yard all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I hadn't really done much inside the house so my kitchen was a wreck. I'm tired as all get out, but, I feel good about everything we accomplished. So, it's a good tired kinda feeling.

Well, it's definitely SPRING :) All the water oaks are putting on their new lime green leaves and pollinating with those weird looking little fuzzy things falling all over the place. And the live oaks are shedding old leaves and putting on new leaves all at the same time. The azaleas are all blooming along with the dogwoods! My neighbor's wisteria is blooming and it is just beautiful! I just love this time of the year -- if the weather could just stay like this all year long.... ah, this must be what heaven's weather is like ;) Sunshine, gorgeous blue skies, beautiful spring flowers everywhere.... Here's some pics I took....

And with Spring comes SPRING CLEANING.... that includes my goldfish pond -- all 300 gallons of it LOL. This afternoon after work, I get to put my shubunkins back into their home (and out of the aquarium inside). They are almost as long as the aquarium inside... they probably won't fit in there next year when I do my annual pond cleaning. They are just so pretty though and I've had them now for several years so I'm rather attached to them.

When we were cleaning out the goldfish pond, we found a huge bullfrog! So he also went into his own container and I set him loose early this morning back into the pond. We also found a white oak rat snake -- a baby He was on the other side of the house. So DH got him into a container and away we went to B&B Pet Stop. They take donations :) This is the 2nd white oak rat snake I've donated. As long as he's not at my house anymore -- that's all I care about!

My garden is growing quite well. I'll have to take some pics and post for you to see. I'll also get some pics posted of my goldfish pond and deck area. I could just live down there in the Spring :)

Well, work today has been so busy! And time has flown by so quickly. I really wish I had a couple of more hours of actual worktime today to finish up. But, that's ok -- there's tomorrow. It's end of the month and end of the quarter so there's always a big push on to get all the invoices collected. Got to run -- a couple more loose ends to tie up before heading home tonight :)

What a GREAT Weekend :)

I hope that you also had a great weekend! I got to scrap this weekend with all my friends -- what could be better than spending all day Saturday with friends doing what I like to do best???

I also got to do some shopping with my friend Viv too. We went to the Semmes scrapbook store where I picked up a couple of things before heading off to Tuesday Morning to pick up some of the K&CO album sets for GCS gifts.

I also have a couple of pics to share of my dear friend Wendi's kids :) They went on an Easter egg hunt while we scrapped on Saturday. And they played on all the slides, swings, etc that were set up at the hunt. Here's a pic of Casey in the big jumper looking back like he's thinking "SAVE ME"

OH, and they got to go on a hay ride with the Easter bunny (someone that dear Casey didn't really care for at all!) As you can tell from this pic, Casey isn't too sure about that Easter bunny sitting at the front of the hay wagon.

Here's some more pics from Saturday...

How's Your Day?

It's Tuesday afternoon -- almost 4 PM. I've had a pretty busy day today at work. I'm really getting excited about this weekend coming up. A entire day and night of scrapping on Saturday!! Yippeeee! I'll be scrapping with the SPPS crew from 8 AM till midnight. I haven't seen some of my friends since January so it will be so nice to spend time and scrap with them.

Tonight while I'm helping DS with her spelling words, I'm going to start organizing my "stuff" and figure out what I'm going to be working on this weekend. I still have to finish up my pics from the cruise.... Oh, I purchased a cruise themed 12x12 scrapbook (postbound) at WalMart last week. I have just about decided to have 1 cruise scrapbook that would include all the cruises that we go on.

Also, the NEW Design Team at PPSC is getting ready to kick off! I'm very excited about being a part of this fabulous team! Here's a toast to all my PPSC Design Team buddies -- >

There's some awesome scrappers on our team and it is going to be so much fun working and designing with them. I can learn so much from them because they are so talented and full of creativity :)

Our DT Leader, Holly has some great things in mind for the DT members to work on. I can't wait for the announcement on the message board. But I will keep MUM on it for now ---- you'll just have to stay tuned and find out later

OMG -- I'm so late in updating my BLOG!

I've been pretty busy these last couple of weeks! And I just checked and it's been since Feb/11 that I updated. Wow, so much has happened since then.

The weekend of Feb/16-18, I went to Orange Beach with a couple of scrapping buddies (Hi Lynne, Debbie, Kylie, Tonya). Debbie rented us a condo at Bluewater and we scrapped the entire weekend :) We had the best time! Thanks for setting this up Debbie! I really got a good bit accomplished this weekend and I can't wait for us to go back again.

The weekend of Feb/22-25, I was back again in Orange Beach with Gulf Coast Scrappers! What a weekend :) We had so much fun, and of course (as usual), I didn't get any scrapping done LOL But that was a work weekend for me so it's ok. Mississippi Paper Arts (hi Carrie) was our store vendor for GCS and she brought loads of great Scenic Route stuff (I really do like this!). I picked out the SR paper that I decided to use for my "All About Me" layout for the 4th week of DT Contest at The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community :) And here it is:

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Sunday, Sunday.....

It's already Sunday morning. It just seems like it was Friday -- the weekend has really flown by fast. I guess it's true, time flies when you're having fun :)

I went to my friend Janie's house on Friday afternoon late to scrapbook! Another friend, Debby came over and we had such a great time Friday night and Saturday! We had lots of great things to eat and drink (ah, that Cinnabon coffee was awesome!). And we all chatted and scrapped while watching the big screen TV.

I got to watch Grey's Anatomy because I had missed it the night before (for some reason I thought it came on at 9 PM -- but it starts at 8 PM!!!). It was a good episode, but probably not one of my favorites. I'm kinda tired of seeing all the bad stuff happy to Izzy. She ended up with that poor buy sandwiched between two vehicles. That was so sad. You know that there's no way that he is going to make it out of there alive.

And then the intern (can't remember his name right now LOL) that found and tagged the pregnany lady as dead but she wasn't! OMG -- when I saw her fingers move! I hope that she makes it and that her baby does too. I couldn't believe that Meredith fell into the water though! Can she NOT swim? Debby and Janie said that maybe she hit her head on something. I bet that the water is cold. We know that she will make it (of course, the show is "Grey's" Anatomy). But I wonder how long she'll be in the water before they find her.

Anyway -- back to scrapping :) I only finished 2 layouts this weekend LOL But they were pretty good ones. One I'm going to enter as my journaling layout for the PPSC Design Team Challenge Week #2: Journaling :) The "Sunset at Sea" (below) is the one I'm entering. This is the journaling on the layout:

I love the sunrise. To me this is the best time of the day. Most of the world is still asleep. Everything is quiet. I feel peace and tranquility. It's a time to reflect on the days past and plan the new day to follow.

The most beautiful sunrise that I have ever seen was the one Timmy and I witnessed on our cruise coming home from Cozumel. It was absolutely breathtaking. The colors the sun reflected through the clouds and over the top of the water were beautiful. Shades of blue, gray, pink, orange and red filled the sky. Every minute the view changed as the sun began to peak over the horizon. I had taken more pictures that morning of the sunrise than I had of the entire cruise. I'm ready to take another cruise. And when I do, in the early morning hours you'll find me once again on deck, in the dark, waiting for the sun to rise again.

Here's my layouts from this weekend:

I have my Week #3 Layout already completed and uploaded. I just have to move it over to the right category when it's time :) And then, that leaves me with just one more challenge to complete for the DT Contest! And this will probably be the hardest one. It is Week #4 Challenge: Focus on YOU. OMG...... this may have to be a double page layout ;) I kinda think it would be impossible to accurately do a layout about me on just one page. But we'll see. I'm going to start making notes on things that I want to include in the layout.... this is really going to be the tough one!

Friday, February 9, 2007

It's Finally FRIDAY :) Yeah!!

And I have a lot of scrapping time lined up for this weekend :) A couple of friends and I are going to scrap at one of the friend's house this weekend -- starting this morning :) But, before I leave the house, I have to try to pick up and clean up some first. DH was home sick yesterday and the house looks like a wreck!!

This morning I also have to take some goodies by the school for DD's "bake sale" for her class. She always picks out items that take alot of time -- why can't she just pick cookies and let me go and by them at WalMart? LOL She came home last night from the grocery store (DH took her) with strawberries. She wants us to do chocolate covered strawberries for her bake sale. So, I also have to get those made and delivered to the school before I can get started with my weekend.

I have been working on a couple of layouts the last two days :) First one is "Together - Cozumel". I've had this layout in my head and just couldn't wait to get it on a layout! It is one of my favorite pics from our cruise to Cozumel last fall. I will be turning it in as an entry to The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community's Design Team Contest -- Week #1: Focus on Design. The patterned paper is Bohemia MME. For the title letters, I traced the Lil Davis letters onto chipboard and cut them out. I then painted and distressed before heat embossing with UTEE. I tied some of the leather strips to a couple of the letters for a rough look. On the photo, I used some decorative charm corners that are very "fancy". Beside the photo, I used a very pretty ribbon trim with MM decorative brads. I added a slide mount below the pic with the date (MM alpha rubons). I just love the quote on the bottom of the page and was looking at it the entire time I was working on this layout. I have this quote on an altered box in my scraproom. Together the layout is a mix of distressed, rough, and fancy – which is my design style “all mixed up” LOL

The 2nd layout is Page 3 of our cruise -- more Bohemia MME patterned paper and lots of chipboard and embellishments :) I painted the arrow and then heat embossed it with clear UTEE -- this gives it even more dimension (you can't really tell in the scan). The round MM decorative brads sit on chipboard (Undressed) that has been painted and then heat embossed with UTEE clear and then UTEE Interference Blue. On the 2nd embossing I didn't completely heat the embossing powder so it would be "bumpy". I used this same technique with the bracket. I painted and heat embossed with clear UTEE the slide chipboard on the bottom and used the MM rubons to add the date. For the journaling, I printed it on vellum and then quickly sprinkled the wet ink with fine embossing powder and then heat embossed. So even the journaling has dimension. The "On Our" and "FINALLY" was printed on a transparency on a color laser printer. I then cut the letters out and used adhesive under the black on the reverse to secure to the page (so the adhesive wouldn't show). The transparency letters are very shiney and look really cool on page with the other embellishments that are mat finish (WAY) and bumpy finish (the bracket and the round chipboard under the MM decorative brads). I will be using this layout for Week #3 Challenge: Focus on Embellishments for my Design Team Contest entry.

Well, enough for now – I’m off to get started on my weekend. I hope that everyone reading my blog has a wonderful time off for the next two days.

A Great Day :)

I had a really good day today :) I got to play! My mouth is feeling better and I'm set to go back to work tomorrow. But, while I was sick today, I did manage to create 2 altered items that I'm very happy with. I used Basic Grey Urban Couture (Ratine), lots of misc letters, Prima flowers with bling centers, and Rhonna Farrer "flourishes" stamps. The large flowers on the "Keys" is just from a flower that I pulled apart.

Now, back to scrapping :) I have a layout to finish up tonight!

It's Going to be a Scrappin' Day :)

Well, yesterday I made a quick appointment for the dentist. I had 1 crazy tooth right in the front that had started bothering me on Saturday. I figured I'd better do something before it turned into a really bad problem. My front 4 teeth have crowns and this was one of them. My dentist has been telling me for about 2 years that it was time to replace these crowns.... I was really hoping to get by another couple of years before having to do something LOL

But yesterday was the day {{sigh}} All four crowns came OFF and he went ahead and did a root canal on the one that was bothering me. 2 and 1/2 hours in the dentist chair.... then quick to the pharmacy to fill prescriptions and then to Sonic for a cherry slush before the novicane wore off (hadn't even had breakfast yet) and then home to hit the recliner.

Well, about 3 hours after that, I wake up LOL We won't even talk about the swelling of my upper lip and nose! Still this morning I'm swollen and not feeling very well from my upper lip to the top of my head. But, when life gives you lemons make lemonade, right??? So, with the help of some Advil (head feels fine now) the pain is going away and the headache is gone too. The swelling, well, it's definitely still there LOL I'm hoping it will be gone tomorrow so I can get back to work. But, in the meantime, I have the whole day to scrap!!!! Yeah!

So the first thing I'm going to work on is a plaque that I found to alter :) I hope to get it finished and I'll take a pic and post it. Then I have some pages to work on too. Plus, I need to do some pre-planning because I'm going to be scrapping this weekend with a couple of friends YEAH!

From something not so good, I'm making the best of it and turning a potentially bad day into a great day :) I might even post twice on my blog today!

Oh and a quick note: I found a layout on 2 Peas this morning that was so cute. I'm definitely going to lift it but in a different way than what you'd think. The title of the layout was "It's all in the Genes" -- talking about a baby and two parents. Well, this immediately made me think of a different "Gene". I can already see my layout! DH's middle name is "Eugene" (named after his father who was called "Gene" by everyone). Also, DH's 2nd son's middle name is "Eugene" (named after DH). So I can already see a layout with all 3 of their pics and the title "It's all in the Gene's". Won't that be cute? Plus, I'm thinking that DH would really appreciate this too. The layout I saw on 2 Peas was by Kathy Link. I found her blog online and she's really a cool scrapper! I love her work!

A New Week :)

It's Monday morning :) I hope that everyone had a super weekend -- I did! My weekend involved scrapping so how could it get better LOL

I joined the Duchesses in Pensacola on Saturday morning for an all day crop. It was my first time scrapping at a Duchess crop and I had the best time. I saw alot of people that I haven't seen in a long time, plus, I got to meet some new scrappers too.

I finished the first page of my cruise pics -- actually, it's going to be the title page for my cruise scrapbook. When I got home, I added a little more embellishment to it since I had not brought any of that to the crop. Also, I got started with the next two layouts of the cruise too and finished them up last night while the rest of the family watched the SuperBowl :)

Got to run -- looking forward to this week (and this next weekend -- scrapping again with a friend!) Have a great Monday and a wonderful week!

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

Tomorrow is my FRIDAY :)

LOL -- it really is :) I've been busy busy busy this week. But it's been a great week anyway. "End of the Month" (aka EOM) is always so busy. But, it's not a busy as "End of the Quarter" (aka EOQ) or even 10% as busy as "End of the Year" (aka EOY) LOL.

I can't wait for this weekend... actually Saturday to be more precise. I'm heading over to Pensacola for the day. I've started on some "pre-planned" pages. Well, to be truthful, the first page I "planned" I almost finished LOL I know... crazy. But I got inspired and then I got in the mood to scrap because I had these great ideas. It was really hard to STOP and not finish that page!!!! But I know for sure I'll get one page completed on Saturday. That's only because I have to put some adhesive on a couple of things and stick them to the page. Well, I do have the title to cut out. But, I'm thinking of "blinging" it up some. I just have to figure out exactly what I want to do to it. But I can't wait to post the layout. It will be the title page for my cruise album. So, it has to be perfect :)

I'm going to finish planning the second and third pages tonight before I turn in (don't have alot of time because it will be "late" before I know it!!!). I also have three 3 paper mache big round boxes (actually they are round shaped) that I want to alter and use as Big 3 ticket boxes for GCS. I need to pick out some paper and embellishments for these. I think that they will be be so neat altered! Maybe I'll come up with something really nice for them. I'm thinking of using some really big chipboard numbers 1, 2, 3 for each one.

And something VERY important! There is a Design Team search/contest going on at The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community for the Month of February! I just can't wait to see the layouts that are turned in! The first one is due February 5 (next Monday). The challenge is "Design" -- it's for each person to do a layout that showcases what they consider their individual sense of style. So this first week could prove to be very exciting.

Did you know that today is Jan/31 -- and, do you know what that means? It means that in 14 days (just 2 very quick/short weeks!!!) it will be February 14 which is VALENTINE'S DAY. Every year DH takes me out to eat somewhere very nice. This year I want to do something for him. Got any ideas? LOL Last year I did "get" him -- I did a twist and sent him flowers :) He was actually very surprised and impressed! They were so pretty too. They were rubrim lillies -- beautiful huge white lillies with a deep maroon throat that migrates to a pretty pink halfway up each petal. They are my favorite -- white for peace but with a splash of "girlie" colors :) But this year, I need to "out do" myself... I need a better idea that will surprise him even more. Something unique. I guess it's time to google an answer, eh?

Time for me to get busy so I get can to sleep at a decent hour tonight -- yeah, right! Not!! Oh well, I can always try.

A very special prayer going up tonight for a dear friend...

Have a great night :)

Monday....Monday..... (yet again!)

Back at work this morning. But that's not a bad thing :) I actually love the beginning of new weeks.... so many things to do and plan for. I make a list in my planner every Monday morning -- I try to list everything I can think of that I need to do during the week including appointments, bills that need to be paid, phone calls that need to be made.... My family jokes all the time about my "lists".

Yesterday I organized scrapbook supplies (why am I always doing this??). I also looked thru all my pics that needed to be scrapped and found the PERFECT ones to start working on this coming Saturday at the Duchess crop. It's the pics I took of our cruise! I have so much stuff too -- memorabilia. Things like the invoice I printed out online when I booked the cruise, a deck by deck layout of the ship, those Carnival cards that you have to have with you all the time (especially if you get off the ship in port and then have to get back on the ship LOL). Anyway, I printed lots of pictures (not all of them though) on Sunday and it really brought back some great memories! I loved the cruise we went on. The length of time was perfect -- just 4 days and 3 nights. I couldn't stand to be away and out of touch with the kids longer than that. But I'll get started on those pages this weekend and I can't wait!

Something else I did on Sunday -- I re-checked what I had backed up file wise from my computer. I have to do this every once in a while because I think I would die if I lost my files and pictures! So, I burned backup CD's of all my digital photos (first things first!). Then I did a backup to Xdrive.com where I have 50 GIGS of space. It takes a little while to go thru all the folders I have on my computer and decide what needs to be backed up. So that took a pretty good bit of my time yesterday. But, this morning I'm feeling really good about it.

I wanted to working on a couple of altered items yesterday, but I ran out of time.... I love altering stuff! So they are just sitting there on my crop table behind my desk staring me down. I'll get to them soon though.

Time to get back to work -- breaktime is over with :) Have a great day and a wonderful week!

Beautiful Sunday Morning :)

And it's cold outside!! It's going to be even colder tomorrow morning.... I have some vegetable plants that I will have to cover up this afternoon. I have lettuce, broccoli, radish, onions, chives, beets.... all those "spring" kind of plants that grow really well down here in the south during our "winter". There's a couple of nights that they have to be covered up, but, for the most part, these types of vegetables are great to grow this time of the year.

Today I'm going to work on a couple of altered items that I'm just dieing to get my hands on :) Also, I will be getting prepared and pre-planned for a crop I'm attending in Pensacola next Saturday with the Duchesses. This will be my first "Duchess" crop to attend and I'm very excited. They are such a FUN group! Guess it's time to get me a purple shirt, a purple boa and a tiara :)

I'm really looking forward to February because I get to crop almost every weekend! The first weekend is the Duchess crop, the 2nd weekend we're hoping to set up SPPS crop, the 3rd weekend is a weekend with my "peeps" (a word used by 12 year old girls to describe "friends") in Orange Beach (6 or 7 girls in a condo on the BEACH)!!! and the next weekend will be the 1st GCS event for 2007 in Orange Beach. But that's 4 weekends in a row scrapping -- how did I pull that off with DH???? Easy, I "encouraged" him to hunt all he wanted in January -- like every weekend! And, this weekend (actually right now) he's been up in a tree in Evergreen AL because it's the last weekend of deer hunting season. Ya know, scrapping is the best hobby, much better than hunting. Here's my comparison of scrapping to hunting:

1. Hunting -- you have to be super quiet so the deer will not hear you. Scrapping -- you can talk, chat, laugh and have lots of "non-quiet" fun.
2. Hunting -- you go and sit all by yourself in the woods usually in a tree stand. Scrapping -- you get to sit with all your scrapping buddies and you're never alone in a room of scrappers :)
3. Hunting -- you have to spend lots of money on all types of special "hunting" clothes, gloves, boots, etc. Scrapping -- jeans and a t-shirt is just fine and sometimes, you can crop in your PJ's!
4. Hunting -- You have to sit in the woods (usually in a tree stand or a shooting house) and freeze your butt off in the dead of winter. Scrapping -- you get to enjoy your hobby inside where it's nice and warm.
5. Hunting -- You have to work in the "patches" during the heat of the summer -- that means clearing off plots to plant peas and other plants for the deer to eat so that they will grow big "racks". Scrapping -- you get to enjoy your hobby inside where it's nice and cool :)
6. Hunting -- A hunter purchases big guns and bow and arrows that are quite dangerous. Scrapping -- the most dangerous tool we use is a hammer or a pair of scissors.
7. Hunting -- If a hunter finds "big tracks" or "signs" (don't ask LOL) or "nice scrapes" they keep this all to themselves and never share this information with their hunting buddies. Scrappers -- if we find a bargain somewhere, we're on the phone in 5 minutes (or posting on the message board as soon as we get home). Also a scrapper will even share her sources with her friends for those hard to find items (such as "just released" at CHA products)
8. And last but not least.... Hunting -- the final outcome is a deer steak or "back strap" that can be enjoyed (usually only by the hunter and not his family because they don't eat deer meat UG!!!) and a deer head on the wall with eyes that are always looking at you FIFI. Scrapping -- everybody loves scrapbooks -- the kids, the hubby, and even the visiting relatives. And the final outcome of scrapbooking is a nice album FULL OF MEMORIES on the coffee table that everyone loves to take a few minutes and look at. And the scrapbook will be cherished by future generations maybe even a hundred years from now while that deer head ends up hanging in somebody's shed LOL

On the enabler alerts -- HL has 12x12 PP 5/$1 this week :) Time to go and stock up on MME Bohemian LOL Also, this week the lamps are 50% off again, so we'll be going back on Monday to get that lamp that Kristen saw on Saturday. It will go very well in her bedroom.

Time to get busy -- it's almost 10 AM!!!! Have a great day :)

Sorry for not posting ....

But, I've been busy! Doing a little scrapping (yeah!!!!) and some working too.

First of all -- scrapping! I got to scrap this past weekend. I had an excellent time with all my friends (15 or 16 of them) on Friday night and all day Saturday. It was so nice to be able to get together with them again and spend time with them. Plus, I actually accomplished something -- 4 layouts! Oh, I also spent several hours on Friday night getting organized -- so that was really nice :)

Basic Grey -- FRUITCAKE -- ah, it's the best!!! And some of my BEST friends gave me a whole pack of it this past weekend. That was the nicest gift!! I can see me hoarding this stuff (like the Lollipop Shop line) I had not gotten to see all of the individual papers in this line until I received my gift this past weekend. I had only seen it online. And oh man! It is so much prettier in person! Thanks again to my friends -- ya'll are awesome :)

I scanned my layouts that I worked on this past weekend, and they are posted at The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community's "Gallery". I am going to try to learn how to incorporate them here on my blog too.

GCS Orange Beach is SOLD OUT for the February event!! So I've been busy working on registrations, seating, hotel rooms, schedules, etc, etc OH and PRIZES too! Secret Pal signups are open (will be closing FEB/05) and I can't wait to see who Roni, Mom Cat & Kyle assign for my secret pal. I love doing SP -- I think it's the sneaking around and trying to leave gifts without your SP seeing you or finding out who you are that is so much fun LOL

Hope you have a great week :)

Good Monday Morning :)

It's 6:20 AM. I have 10 good minutes to blog before I run to the shower so I can get out of here on time this morning :)

I had a really good weekend :) Friday night I actually kinda did get some scrapping done LOL I altered a Russell Stover Christmas candy box. I turned it into a "Birthday" box :) It is very cute and I had alot of fun working on it. I will get a pic of it posted soon. I would rather altered stuff it seems that scrap sometimes LOL

On Saturday night, me and the kids drove over to the casino in Bay St. Louis, MS. I had a coupon for a free night and a free buffet. The hotel is beautiful -- they've really sunk alot of money into it after Katrina. The room was amazing! My reservation was for a double which contained 2 queen beds. When we got there, there were no rooms -- so, they upgraded me to a junior suite :) The kids loved this! We ate at the buffet (not quite as good as it was before, but still good). Then we all went to the room and crashed and watched TV. I got up at 5 AM and went to the casino (everyone else just about was gone) and played my $10 freebie money which didn't take long to run out. But I got free coffee while I was playing so that was good. After the $10 ran out on the 25 cent machines, then I played forever and ever on a penny machine (on my money LOL). I was on a machine that kept hitting (for a change) -- of course it was a penny machine -- why couldn't it have been a dollar machine? Well, that's an easy answer, it's because I'm cheap and hate to put my money in a machine and lose it LOL!! So I'd never play dollars. But, I couldn't stay very long because DS had to go to work at 11 AM and we had to leave at 8 AM to drive home. I didn't "win" anything, but the casino knows I was there so maybe they will continue to send those coupons for free hotel nights!!!

We drove home early yesterday morning and got DS home in time to get a shower and get ready for work. Then DD and I went to Wally World to get an oil change (over due for that!) and pick up a couple of things. Then it was home to put up groceries and pick up a little bit. Later, I turned on the GCS Orange Beach FEB/2007 registration so everyone could sign up. But, only after I checked my email and found that they tried to automatically bill me for hosting on my credit card and it didn't go thru!!! My credit card expiration date had passed back in December, so my January hosting was declined LOL So I had to go in really quick and update my cc info first, then go in and turn on the registration. Whew!!! Anyway, got it all taken care of :)

Well, needless to say my 10 minutes (plus 10 more minutes) are up LOL! Time to get off and get ready for work :( I hope everyone has a great day!!

TGIF :)

I'm so glad today is FRIDAY :) Finally LOL

Well, today I was off from work -- so I stayed home all day and just cleaned house, washed clothes, etc, etc, etc LOL But, now that is done so ... tonight, I ... get ... to ... SCRAP!

That's right :) Me and some friends from The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community (www.paperplacescrapbooking.com) are going to have a "over the net" crop party :) A group of them will be across the bay (for those of you not from Mobile, AL -- that means they will be in Daphne, AL) having a slumber/crop party. So, we're all planning on getting online tonight and chatting online while we crop. I wish that Lynne could pass me one of those CROPTINI'S and later when it starts getting late, I would love to have some of Debbie's BIG GIRL COFFEE :) But, until then, I'll just sit here and crop with a beverage of my own choosing LOL

GCS -- prices for the Orange Beach FEB/2007 event will be posted tomorrow :)

I'll update the blog later (hopefully with some pics of layouts I've completed tonight!!) Have a great Friday night :)

Busy Day :)

Today I'm updating the GCS website (www.gulfcoastscrappers.com). I'll be opening registration online for our upcoming event to be held in Feb/2007 in Orange Beach AL -- yeah!! The events that we hold in Orange Beach at the Hilton Garden Inn are always the best! I'm hoping to have all the prices calculated and posted on the website today :) Registration will open on Sunday night, January 7. Based on the emails I've received from scrappers ready to sign up, I think the event will be 3/4 booked just on the first day of registration. Like I said, everyone loves this event!

We are definitely booked for New Orleans LA (Kenner LA) for the 2nd weekend of July. This would be July 12 - 15 at the Hilton Airport. Our New Orleans area events are always so much fun!

I'm also working on the website, message boards and forums at The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community today :) (www.paperplacescrapbooking.com) We'll be starting a new Design Team call there very very soon :) The information will be posted on the message board by Holly (DT Leader) as soon as we have all the detailed completed.
