Sunday, Sunday.....

It's already Sunday morning. It just seems like it was Friday -- the weekend has really flown by fast. I guess it's true, time flies when you're having fun :)

I went to my friend Janie's house on Friday afternoon late to scrapbook! Another friend, Debby came over and we had such a great time Friday night and Saturday! We had lots of great things to eat and drink (ah, that Cinnabon coffee was awesome!). And we all chatted and scrapped while watching the big screen TV.

I got to watch Grey's Anatomy because I had missed it the night before (for some reason I thought it came on at 9 PM -- but it starts at 8 PM!!!). It was a good episode, but probably not one of my favorites. I'm kinda tired of seeing all the bad stuff happy to Izzy. She ended up with that poor buy sandwiched between two vehicles. That was so sad. You know that there's no way that he is going to make it out of there alive.

And then the intern (can't remember his name right now LOL) that found and tagged the pregnany lady as dead but she wasn't! OMG -- when I saw her fingers move! I hope that she makes it and that her baby does too. I couldn't believe that Meredith fell into the water though! Can she NOT swim? Debby and Janie said that maybe she hit her head on something. I bet that the water is cold. We know that she will make it (of course, the show is "Grey's" Anatomy). But I wonder how long she'll be in the water before they find her.

Anyway -- back to scrapping :) I only finished 2 layouts this weekend LOL But they were pretty good ones. One I'm going to enter as my journaling layout for the PPSC Design Team Challenge Week #2: Journaling :) The "Sunset at Sea" (below) is the one I'm entering. This is the journaling on the layout:

I love the sunrise. To me this is the best time of the day. Most of the world is still asleep. Everything is quiet. I feel peace and tranquility. It's a time to reflect on the days past and plan the new day to follow.

The most beautiful sunrise that I have ever seen was the one Timmy and I witnessed on our cruise coming home from Cozumel. It was absolutely breathtaking. The colors the sun reflected through the clouds and over the top of the water were beautiful. Shades of blue, gray, pink, orange and red filled the sky. Every minute the view changed as the sun began to peak over the horizon. I had taken more pictures that morning of the sunrise than I had of the entire cruise. I'm ready to take another cruise. And when I do, in the early morning hours you'll find me once again on deck, in the dark, waiting for the sun to rise again.

Here's my layouts from this weekend:

I have my Week #3 Layout already completed and uploaded. I just have to move it over to the right category when it's time :) And then, that leaves me with just one more challenge to complete for the DT Contest! And this will probably be the hardest one. It is Week #4 Challenge: Focus on YOU. OMG...... this may have to be a double page layout ;) I kinda think it would be impossible to accurately do a layout about me on just one page. But we'll see. I'm going to start making notes on things that I want to include in the layout.... this is really going to be the tough one!

It's Finally FRIDAY :) Yeah!!

And I have a lot of scrapping time lined up for this weekend :) A couple of friends and I are going to scrap at one of the friend's house this weekend -- starting this morning :) But, before I leave the house, I have to try to pick up and clean up some first. DH was home sick yesterday and the house looks like a wreck!!

This morning I also have to take some goodies by the school for DD's "bake sale" for her class. She always picks out items that take alot of time -- why can't she just pick cookies and let me go and by them at WalMart? LOL She came home last night from the grocery store (DH took her) with strawberries. She wants us to do chocolate covered strawberries for her bake sale. So, I also have to get those made and delivered to the school before I can get started with my weekend.

I have been working on a couple of layouts the last two days :) First one is "Together - Cozumel". I've had this layout in my head and just couldn't wait to get it on a layout! It is one of my favorite pics from our cruise to Cozumel last fall. I will be turning it in as an entry to The Paper Place Scrapbooking Community's Design Team Contest -- Week #1: Focus on Design. The patterned paper is Bohemia MME. For the title letters, I traced the Lil Davis letters onto chipboard and cut them out. I then painted and distressed before heat embossing with UTEE. I tied some of the leather strips to a couple of the letters for a rough look. On the photo, I used some decorative charm corners that are very "fancy". Beside the photo, I used a very pretty ribbon trim with MM decorative brads. I added a slide mount below the pic with the date (MM alpha rubons). I just love the quote on the bottom of the page and was looking at it the entire time I was working on this layout. I have this quote on an altered box in my scraproom. Together the layout is a mix of distressed, rough, and fancy – which is my design style “all mixed up” LOL

The 2nd layout is Page 3 of our cruise -- more Bohemia MME patterned paper and lots of chipboard and embellishments :) I painted the arrow and then heat embossed it with clear UTEE -- this gives it even more dimension (you can't really tell in the scan). The round MM decorative brads sit on chipboard (Undressed) that has been painted and then heat embossed with UTEE clear and then UTEE Interference Blue. On the 2nd embossing I didn't completely heat the embossing powder so it would be "bumpy". I used this same technique with the bracket. I painted and heat embossed with clear UTEE the slide chipboard on the bottom and used the MM rubons to add the date. For the journaling, I printed it on vellum and then quickly sprinkled the wet ink with fine embossing powder and then heat embossed. So even the journaling has dimension. The "On Our" and "FINALLY" was printed on a transparency on a color laser printer. I then cut the letters out and used adhesive under the black on the reverse to secure to the page (so the adhesive wouldn't show). The transparency letters are very shiney and look really cool on page with the other embellishments that are mat finish (WAY) and bumpy finish (the bracket and the round chipboard under the MM decorative brads). I will be using this layout for Week #3 Challenge: Focus on Embellishments for my Design Team Contest entry.

Well, enough for now – I’m off to get started on my weekend. I hope that everyone reading my blog has a wonderful time off for the next two days.

A Great Day :)

I had a really good day today :) I got to play! My mouth is feeling better and I'm set to go back to work tomorrow. But, while I was sick today, I did manage to create 2 altered items that I'm very happy with. I used Basic Grey Urban Couture (Ratine), lots of misc letters, Prima flowers with bling centers, and Rhonna Farrer "flourishes" stamps. The large flowers on the "Keys" is just from a flower that I pulled apart.

Now, back to scrapping :) I have a layout to finish up tonight!

It's Going to be a Scrappin' Day :)

Well, yesterday I made a quick appointment for the dentist. I had 1 crazy tooth right in the front that had started bothering me on Saturday. I figured I'd better do something before it turned into a really bad problem. My front 4 teeth have crowns and this was one of them. My dentist has been telling me for about 2 years that it was time to replace these crowns.... I was really hoping to get by another couple of years before having to do something LOL

But yesterday was the day {{sigh}} All four crowns came OFF and he went ahead and did a root canal on the one that was bothering me. 2 and 1/2 hours in the dentist chair.... then quick to the pharmacy to fill prescriptions and then to Sonic for a cherry slush before the novicane wore off (hadn't even had breakfast yet) and then home to hit the recliner.

Well, about 3 hours after that, I wake up LOL We won't even talk about the swelling of my upper lip and nose! Still this morning I'm swollen and not feeling very well from my upper lip to the top of my head. But, when life gives you lemons make lemonade, right??? So, with the help of some Advil (head feels fine now) the pain is going away and the headache is gone too. The swelling, well, it's definitely still there LOL I'm hoping it will be gone tomorrow so I can get back to work. But, in the meantime, I have the whole day to scrap!!!! Yeah!

So the first thing I'm going to work on is a plaque that I found to alter :) I hope to get it finished and I'll take a pic and post it. Then I have some pages to work on too. Plus, I need to do some pre-planning because I'm going to be scrapping this weekend with a couple of friends YEAH!

From something not so good, I'm making the best of it and turning a potentially bad day into a great day :) I might even post twice on my blog today!

Oh and a quick note: I found a layout on 2 Peas this morning that was so cute. I'm definitely going to lift it but in a different way than what you'd think. The title of the layout was "It's all in the Genes" -- talking about a baby and two parents. Well, this immediately made me think of a different "Gene". I can already see my layout! DH's middle name is "Eugene" (named after his father who was called "Gene" by everyone). Also, DH's 2nd son's middle name is "Eugene" (named after DH). So I can already see a layout with all 3 of their pics and the title "It's all in the Gene's". Won't that be cute? Plus, I'm thinking that DH would really appreciate this too. The layout I saw on 2 Peas was by Kathy Link. I found her blog online and she's really a cool scrapper! I love her work!

A New Week :)

It's Monday morning :) I hope that everyone had a super weekend -- I did! My weekend involved scrapping so how could it get better LOL

I joined the Duchesses in Pensacola on Saturday morning for an all day crop. It was my first time scrapping at a Duchess crop and I had the best time. I saw alot of people that I haven't seen in a long time, plus, I got to meet some new scrappers too.

I finished the first page of my cruise pics -- actually, it's going to be the title page for my cruise scrapbook. When I got home, I added a little more embellishment to it since I had not brought any of that to the crop. Also, I got started with the next two layouts of the cruise too and finished them up last night while the rest of the family watched the SuperBowl :)

Got to run -- looking forward to this week (and this next weekend -- scrapping again with a friend!) Have a great Monday and a wonderful week!
